Who Can Enter

• There is no eligibility criteria – anyone can enter, at any stage of their career. All you need is a story idea and a way to film it

• Entrants must be 18

What You Can Submit

• Only scripted projects are eligible. All genres are welcome, but content must be suitable for public viewing (no extreme gore, sexually explicit or graphic content – mild swearing is fine)

• Your project can ultimately be intended for film, TV/streaming, or digital drama

• However, the One Minute Pilot you submit must be digital-native:

  • Shot vertically (9:16) in a social media format

  • Camera should “exist” in the scene – direct address, vlog, found footage etc

  • Mini short films, extracts or trailers will not be accepted

• The episode must be clean: no titles, logos, credits, watermarks or subtitles. You will have the chance to provide a caption separately

Technical Requirements

• Maximum length: 120 seconds (we advise between 60–90 seconds)

• File format: .mp4 or .mov (Files should be sized appropriately for social media/YouTube. Please compress your file if it is larger than necessary)

• Minimum resolution: 1080x1920 (HD vertical)

Entry Fees

• Entry fee is £10 per submission

• Sponsored entries are available in cases of financial hardship – please contact us before filling your form in to request support

• Entry fees are non-refundable, even if your submission is disqualified or not selected

Submission Limits

• You may submit as many different projects as you like in a submission round.

• Maximum of two episodes per project per round

• A pilot may be resubmitted to two rounds only. After that, it must be rewritten or reshot, or else you’re welcome to submit a different idea

Rights & Permissions

• By submitting, you confirm you own or control all rights (including music, images and performances) necessary for the work.

• By entering, you grant Glasgow Tellyfest a non-exclusive licence to showcase your pilot on our Youtube and social media channels and at Pick of the Pilots events

Selection Process

• Submissions will be reviewed by the Tellyfest committee

• We reserve the right to reject any submission that does not follow guidelines or meet community standards

• Committee shortlist decisions are final

• Notification of shortlisting will be sent within 14 days of your submission window closes. If you have not heard from us by the following Monday, please get in touch as an email will have gone astray!
